In order to mitigate his desire to mess up Alaska, the oceans, etc. to get more domestic oil, McCain now says he will give someone $300 million dollars if they develop a super battery on which to operate a car. Further, he will give a tax credit to folks buying a zero emission car. How nice when compared to George's credit for buying a 5,000 pound rig that gets 7 miles to the gallon.

Since we have to get less dependent on foreign oil and it will take time, I guess this is as good a plan as possible. I hope he means it about the credits, etc.

Score one for McCain for proposing something reasonable.
